      I reached SP now what

Well, let's start off with this, I am an idiot....

Seriously though, I've been making such an effort to get into SP to WILD for so long with no success that when I hit SP earlier today it took me completely by surprise, I was just expecting to lay there until I eventually gave up, the problem is that when SP hit me I had COMPLETELY no idea what to do, whether it was just stay there and wait for a dream or visualize up something. I eventually just went unconscious.

I was wondering if someone had advice for what I should do next time I hit SP when trying to WILD, should I just lay there and wait for a dream or what ?

      Thanks in advance

A dream will form on its own if you wait for it. But I think some people visualize something while they're waiting for SP in hopes that it will turn into a dream once the HI starts.

I went into SP a couple days ago. Didn't feel any weird sensations or anything, but I was going back to sleep after my first wakeup and I Lay there for a while until I started to see blobs and flashes of light inside my eyelids, just kind of faint and colorless. Then I started to watch it and it turned into an image of a field with long grass... I could clearly see patches of dirt in between here and there, and all sorts of details like you'd expect to see in a field, only I wasn't asleep!! At first the image was collorless and flat, like a reflection on glass, but suddenly it was in full vivid color and became totally real, like I was right there.

Unfortunately I didn't go lucid though. I guess I didn't know what to do at that point either! Well... or maybe in a sense I was lucid because I knew I was looking at dream imagery but I knew I wasn't asleep... I don't know. Weird. But it turned into a regular dream real quick if it was lucid at first. Wish I would have thought to RC!

Maybe go re-read a couple of WILD tuts? Now at least you know you can get there!

Yeah, tricky isn't it? I usually just ride out SP for a while, enjoying the sensations, and then try an exit technique - using a command like "float up", or simply rolling out, the rope technique, etc.

Word for word, this is exactly what happened to me the other day. I saw the same thing and all that. How crazy.

No kidding, the same thing happened to me yesterday, too. with the field of grass and everything. except I started to go into a dream but forgot to realize it.

it was funny though, because in my dream my girlfriend next to me was telling me about the throat chakra and my roommate came in with a case of RC beer which I only today figured out meant Reality Check! The mind is an amazing thing!

How do you know you were in SP? Can you describe? When I hit SP I typically just roll my dream body out of bed and start my LD.

Um well I couldn't hear any outside noise and couldn't move at all.

You're not going to believe this, but during my WILD attempt this morning I tried visualising a field as well!

It looked kind of... well... green, but I didn't get much further than that. And before that I had the blobs and flashes too!

Maybe a field of grass is just a common thing the mind thinks of...

Maybe you're all influenced by the generic Windows background?

That is really spooky... I actually tried to WILD last night and I decided to imagine a field...

This can be tricky, but I try to visualize myself sort of "moving" into a dream. Almost like wiggling. Just make sure whatever you do, if you are not lucid, always do a reality check afterwards. I've been caught off guard so many times and it's annoying.

Usually I just have that floating-away feeling. Like I float off my bed and suddenly, I'm in a dream.
