Hey there,
You don't need to remain perfectly still to WILD, so if you need to swallow, feel an itch, or are uncomfortable, you can adjust. In fact, WILD'ing only requires you to fall asleep and stay conscious, nothing more or less.
Because you're staying conscious though, you're likely to experience a whole range of sensations and feelings that you don't normally do. These are the things that your body goes through when falling asleep. They can include itches, vibrations, feeling of numbness, hypnagogia, and so forth. They indicate you're getting close to sleeping, but at the same time they can become an obstacle because they divert your attention and keep you awake. So if you need to swallow, just swallow, get comfortable again, and try to fall asleep once more.
The difficulty with WILD'ing is finding that fine line where you're conscious enough not to lose all awareness as you enter into your dream state, but not so conscious and awake that you won't fall asleep.
Just my 2 cents,
