      Beginners WILD questions

So I'm relatively new to this whole WILD method, and I've been practicing DILD's throughout the day with reality checks, unfortunately with no success yet.

The problem here is that I see so many different ways of WILD-ing, and I'm not sure which one I should use. I preferably want to use one that involves going straight into a WILD lucid dream before sleep. I've tried waking myself up 5-7 hours after I fall asleep and not matter how long I wake up, I'll always fall asleep without being aware, and if I stay up too long I can't fall back asleep

I think I successfully managed to get into sleep paralysis two days ago, but got a bit too excited and nervous, I woke myself up again... :/ So I was wondering what has worked for you to achieve a WILD the best? And what tips could you give me (I can't fall asleep on my back and sleep on my side, and I'm a probably average falling-asleeper)

P.S. Another strange thing that happened to me was when I was trying to clear my mind and just be aware without thinking too much, my eyes started hurting, is this normal? Is there any way to prevent it?

Sorry, but techniques that involve sleep paralysis are misleading, there's alot of misconception about it, be sure to read this thread, it explains alot: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...mystified.html
As for WILDing when normally going to sleep, it is highly ineffective unless you had alot of practice or talented, because you will have to keep awareness through alot of NREM. Also WILDing requires some practice and it is easier to do if you had some lucid dreams already. By the way don't stop DJing and RCing because it actually helps with WILD as much as with any other method or technique.
I also highly recommend reading this tutorial: WILD

I guess the problem with me, is that I have tried a couple nights, where I would wake up, or even when I'd just wake up to go to the bathroom, I'd keep myself up for a few minutes, and then try and go back to sleep lucidly. The last thing I remember is being aware and then the next is waking up again, really frustrated.

I also don't get why my RC's don't work for me :/ I remember about two dreams a night on average now, and do maybe about 10-15 RC's daily, but I don't know if I'm doing it wrongly or something...but thanks a lot for your help I'll read the links you've sent.

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Be patient with yourself, though. Lucid dreaming is an art of trial and errors and many of the experienced lucid dreamers here waited ages before all their efforts started to pay off.

Don't stress out over the WILDs. Make the efforts when you wake up during the night and try various techniques if you are getting bored or frustrated. I am starting to see WILDs work more, but it has taken me a long time to get here and it was very much worth the effort and patience.

Learning to lucid dream since 2012.
