The last two nights I believe I was very close to transitioning into a dream. I've been attempting WILD during day time naps and after sleeping for about 5 hours.
I get to a point where I am aware and very passive in my thoughts, my body becomes almost numb, and I really have to put effort into moving. One point while in this relaxed state I moved due to discomfort/pain and all of my limbs retained a very numb sensation, similar to the feeling of needles but not as intense.
After being very relaxed and feeling myself almost drifting off I begin to see shapes and colors, I would not describe them as objects, instead more of a colored scribble. Along with these images comes a noise similar to the noise you get when you rub your ear. It starts off quiet and gains in intensity with the images.
At this point, no matter how passive I was I begin having conscious thoughts, I try to suppress them right away and dismiss them but it seems no matter what I do the imagery slowly fades and I return to my relaxed state.
What can I do to get past these, I am hoping that with time I will remain passive through these images but it is quite frustrating right now.
