Well some anchors fit more of your conscious in them than others. I'm still experimenting with anchors. I've noticed repeating stimuli, like the sound of a fan, or the feeling of your body against the bed can be difficult to focus on. But I think there may be more of a possibility that you'd slip into sleep faster that way, I know I use simple anchors like this (fan, focusing on my feet) to get to sleep at night. Where it is nearly impossible to hold the conscious for long, before it spins back into oblivion. It might be a riskier WILD (you might lose track of the yoyo conscious for extended periods), but potentially, could be a faster one.

I think repeating mantras and counting could be easier to focus on, I've yet to really experiment with mantras. Honestly I'm just beginning to get successful with WILD after finally understanding what goes into it. But I think I'll try repeating a mantra tonight for an anchor. Or counting, or both.

Breathing makes a good anchor because it's not always repeating stimuli, you breath out then in. I want to experiment more with heavier anchors, like mantras some more.
