I don't understand why you think Lucid dreaming would carry the risk of messing up sleep cycles. Unless you are lying in bed awake for over an hour doing a MILD mantra or failing at WILDing. However, a simple WBTB would have little to no effect on sleep.

And you will have much more success attempting to lucid all seven days of the week versus only two. I strongly suggest attempting lucids daily for best results.
I didn't say he would get less sleep, I said the cycles may be shifted. A half hour shift in either direction is the difference between waking up refreshed and waking up feeling like a zombie, IF you have to wake up at a certain time.
