      Advice on WILD

I've been trying to WILD when I initially lay down to sleep (this I know is hard but attainable). Initially, when trying I felt SP and vibrations. The last two nights though I have attempted to relax and "feel" my body dissinigrating from my toes to my head. I began to dipp into my subconscious and suddenly roll over without any urge.I know when you feel the urge to roll over you have to resist. This came with no urge...has anyone experienced this. Is it just me losing my conscienceness and not realizing I'm rolling over? Or something else...?

Just don't do it. If you haven't slept earlier in the day like during a nap it is never going to happen. I tried to do it 50+ times just because I though people were giving up to easily. But on my third night of trying to WILD after sleep I had one. If you don't want to fuss with alarm clocks just drink enough water before you fall asleep to make you wake up to piss. That's what I did. 3 out of 4 nights I woke up so it's a good way to do it.

      And welcome to the forum.

RIght. Also, I think it's also pivotal that you not get caught up in trying to detect the roll over signal. The strength of the signal could be weak or (as some would say) excruciating. At the end of the day, it's just a signal. What truly matters is your ability to remain conscious through the shut down process. That's where awareness practice comes in. I think that's what you should focus more so on anyway. Do you use reality checks in your waking life? How often? Those will help tremendously with your awareness and your awareness in turn will help with your ability to stay conscious as your body shuts down for the night.

Bottom line: Don't get caught up with signals. Get caught up with reality checks.

I reality check (spueeze nose, count fingers) at least 2 times an hour...at the least. And I activley look around and asses where I am and how I got here and really look at what's around me. I have a laid back job lol...so it makes it easy to remember to do RC's. Before sleep I make it a point to stretch and focus on what I want to do in my dream tonight when I'm lucid.

How long have you persistently been doing reality checks?
