That was a great video and I agree with most of what he said (except the "terrible at names" bit).
I'm not quite that rigorous with my habits. I do need an hour to wake up though. I don't spend it in bed meditating though. I usually spend 5-10 minutes IN bed, just gathering my senses ad trying to recall my dreams. The rest of "my" time is eating cereal and watching a show.
I become very cranky if someone disturbs me before that first hour 
Before I go to sleep, I have to play games until I FEEL like I'm about to pass out. When I had my iPad, I'd spend about 15 minutes at my Smurf's Village and then work on Jigsaw puzzles. I'd usually be ready to pass out before my second puzzle (about 15 minutes each).
Since it's died, I play Jewel Quest on my Ds. Only, there's 5 different characters and no way to track which has played what. So, I force myself to finish one or two puzzle with the entire set Now, it usually take 2-4 hours before I finally fall asleep 
I have to play games past the point of exhaustion or my brain will keep me awake and restless and annoyed.
