In order to vote in the poll - please complete the following short VAK test below (takes 2mins):
VAK TEST
If you can be bothered there are two more slightly different VAK tests on the same website - combining the results of all three may give a more accurate picture: VAK dominance test and VAK survey
The VAK (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) learning modes can help understand how a person learns and thinks. The test will show which are your strongest learning modes - or may show a multimodal approach.
NB we all tend to use all the modes - some just favour certain modes, more or less strongly. An understanding of this can be particularly helpful when teaching/ learning, as the teaching method can be tailored to the student's learning mode.
I am particularly interested in RCs and learning modes. i.e. I would hypothesise that the best RC for an individual would be one that taps the strengths of their learning mode. This came out of a discussion HERE
EDIT - Link to a post where I try to categorise Reality Checks by VAK Learning Mode:
Fine-tune your lucid dream induction method
If possible could you also provide further information as follows - with notes if desired:
VAK type is ?:
KVA (my results)
Do you DILD? If so, how?
Most of the time its just a feeling something is dreamlike(K &?VA) - often its trying to fly(K), occassionally by looking at my hands(V) or finger-through-hand(VK)
Do you do waking RCs? If so, which? And do they work - i.e. do you find yourself doing them in a DILD?
Occassionally try to just feel if its real or not(K), also look at hands(V) and finger-through-hand(V&K).
So... according to the hypothesis I should perhaps be doing more 'feels like a dream?' and/or 'can I fly?' type RCs.
Natural or Learnt LDer? [N/L]:
N
(Natural LDer from early childhood who has improved through practice and study.)
Frequency of LDs
[1-5 /night = 1, 1-5 /week = 2, 1-5 /month = 3, 1-5/year = 4, never = 5]:
2
(1-3 times per week without trying, 1-3+ per night when regularly reading DV(thanks folks! and doing various exercises or WILDing. EDIT: actually its only about 1 per week at the moment
Perceived Duration of LDs
[10+ minutes = 1, 1-10 minutes = 2, 1-60 seconds = 3]:
2
(1-10mins, often longer, and occassionally it seems like its all night.)
Control of/in LDs
[1 = god-like total; 2 = control over DCs, and dream world with advanced abilities such as telekinesis, teleport, manifesting etc; 3 = full awarness of dream, full conscious control of 'normal' self; 4 = aware of dreaming, some control of self]:
2
(Usually just of myself - I often limit control by choice, but sometimes its god-like & total - at least as much as my creativity allows!
Many Thanks in Anticipation
