I would like to know about demonic possession and have a few questions. You don't have to be religious to answer, I would like some different viewpoints .

I never actually THOUGHT of it until now, and not have been demonic possessed.

1) Is demonic possession real?
2) I have heard that hypnotism causes demonic possession. How/why is this?
3) Other reasons for possession: how/why?
4) Do nonbelievers of dp get demonic possession? Why?
5) Do you know anyone who gets demonic possession? What did s/he get?
6) Is there an explanation without god/devil on demonic possessions? What is it?

1)Real in it's effects. Or possibly even real if a person could convince himself that he is possesed, which would, on a subconscious level, actually create this demon. Since dreams, schizophrenia or any other peculiar mental states are real, then perhaps so could demons in this style. But of course, there wouldn't actually be any demons, but some self induced mental disorder. In which case, making demons nonexistant. It's pretty sad that people manage to create more problems for themselves than "needed". But so do we all, so it's hard to judge.

2)People become deluded by the stories, become hysterical or are already mental. If something happens in nature, then there is an explanation without god.

1) I'mm a Christian and I personaly don't think that most claims of demonic possesion are credible. Most likely when people say they are possesed by deamons they are crazy and its all in there head or else their acting to get attention. People can realy belive that their halucinations are real especialy with what they have seen on tv and in the movies. Its amazing and terible what mental problems can do to people. Also you would be suprised at what some people would do for attention (which can also be caused by a metal disorder)

6) yes its called being crazy. lol Just read some peoples acounts of SP on this site then you will realise that all those times people claim to wake up and have aliens in their room or demonds standing over them are just halucinations.

Hypnotism does not cause something that is not real. Also, go read the thread about hypnosis misconceptions. Hypnosis is NOT about mind control. There is no such thing as mind control of the "youuuu will doooo as tollldd" variety.

In my view, its very unlikely that it is real. If however you believe in things like ghosts and astral projection, then I suppose its possible.

Hypnotism can't cause demonic possession, even if you believe they are real. Since hypnotism only helps you do what you already want to do, the person would have to be seeking demonic possession for hypnotism to cause it. And if you are seeking to be possessed its not really the hypnotism fault, but your own.


3) Other reasons for possession: how/why?
I believe the main reasons for possessions, are people wanting or opening themself to possession. Most things that say demonic possession is real, say you have to be willing, or in an extremely depressed state for it to happen.


4) Do nonbelievers of dp get demonic possession? Why?
Probably not, since as others said demonic possessions that are 'real' are likely mental disorders or people acting out subconcious desires. If you don't believe in it, then you wouldn't act that way, even if you are crazy.

5) Do you know anyone who gets demonic possession? What did s/he get?
I knew some people on the internet who have claimed to talk to demons and stuff, though I don't know them well and can't back up their claim at all. I just know that they say it, with no proof.

Sure, if you believe in a spirital word, then demons are just spirits. Some people believe in things like astral projection. And its possible when projecting to run into things that are not human. Instead they would be beings that naturally have a spirit form and not a physical one. In that case, it has nothing to do with the god or the devil.

Hypnotism does not cause something that is not real. Also, go read the thread about hypnosis misconceptions. Hypnosis is NOT about mind control. There is no such thing as mind control of the "youuuu will doooo as tollldd" variety.

I know that hypnotism is not mindcontrol. But this is possession by demons, not control of mind by a person (not that that happens).

I addressed that by asserting that demonic possession is not real.

I listened to a file for it on a certain website and it was interesting to say the least. I could of course tell it was only my mind as I didn't 'take' to it very well, and it ended up being really watered down. (btw, the "demon" wan't like supposed to do anything harmful, it was fetish related. nuff said on that topic lol)

Here's my two cents:

No, demons aren't real.

Hypnotizing somebody can cause them to do things typically associated with demonic possession.

If someone thinks that they may be possessed, they can manifest the "symptoms" of "demonic possession." It's just a placebo effect.

Demonic possession is a lie, ergo no.

I've known bipolar people, schizophrenics, epileptics, etc. If that is what you are willing to call "demonic possession," then yes, I do. As mentioned earlier, I don't believe in it, so no.
