I really hate it when people make fun of my religion

Tch tch. Take the worst of things, and show it off to people. For the record, these people are no representation of Christianity, and I don't believe they are real Christians.

Like, everyone's heard of them yeah. And there are other threads bout them.

We've discussed the Westburo group many, many, many times. I find their sick and twisted views on a relatively benign religious faith quite humorous. I used to feel really insulted by these guys when I was a believer.

I love the Westboro Baptist Church.

I support them totaly. I send them a donation and a thank you letter, asking them to please keep up the good work, whenever I see they have made the news.

You see - there is a great deal of evidence that the more extreme and fundamentalist groups in a given religion help drive away the more moderate believers. And of course it is the moderates who make up the vast majority of any given faith.

I have heard many xtian commentators lament that extremists like the WBC, young earth creationists, the rabid haters of anything non-xtian are slowly but surely emptying churches. The more moderate, sane, sensible and educated become embarrased and ashamed at evangelical gems such as the recent "Haiti is being punished by god" or the WBC protesting the funerals of soldiers.

Xtanity is declining in the USA at the rate of 1% a year.

I haven't been a christian for a long time, though for the first year or so I was a member here I was also a member of the faith. I am an agnostic now, but if I see christians getting hammered, or feel that I could make a good point on their behalf, then I say something. I was a christian for a very long time and still look fondly on the religion, even if I don't really believe in it now.

Rejecting a shameful church who professes in the Name of God does not make someone non-Christian.

Also, I have doubts that any member of that Church is a Christian. If so, then they really need to get closer to God.

I was talking about lucid boy personally, his church. Because he is a non believer now. Which is what he clearly said. Basic reading skills, yo. Particularly where he said "when I was a believer" which implies he isn't now. hurrrr.

They believe that Jesus is the saviour and follow the Bible to the T. I'd say they're pretty devout in their faith.

That means I can have "what makes you a christian" but not have those. Thereby, being a christian without either of them.
