on the contrary, religion is a moral code despite whether or not it's religious followers actually follow it
all three religions are stock full of moral codes that define the said religion. love and honor thy neighbor. don't murder. don't have anal sex..but also the moral code goes in much deeper, into how husbands and wives should be. how often you should pray, worship, WHOM you worship, ask for forgiveness to even what you should eat or drink. there's enough to drive you mad
now having morality and having a moral code are two different things
morality is your own sense of right and wrong, a moral code is what some ancient book tells you is right and wrong. that's the disconnect and where hypocrisy can live
when does religion become about proof? when it lacks spirituality. any spiritual individual, regardless of religious background, intuitively knows there is no greater evidence than your own personal experience. because they have personal experience, they don't need outer proof
those who are not spiritual need an outside confirmation of their belief. even if that confirmation is how many other people believe in what they believe
