Thread: Does anyone else find this to be completely ANNOYING!?!?!?!?!

That's when you hit "ignore" mode and just hope they'll end up as priests and possibly go to jail for diddling small boys and be on your merry way.

A) Learn as much as you can about Greek mythology.

B) Convince them that it's the one true religion and that they are pagans.

C) Sacrifice them to Ares if they still don't believe you.

Every single person in the world at one point or another will have to tolerate someone else trying to convince them that their beliefs are wrong. Perhaps if these people are friends of yours you could read their book (quran) so you can at least give them informed reasons why you believe they are wrong.

I had a friend that used to do the same thing. She was Christian and hated my own belief system (I don't subscribe to a particular religion but rather a system of beliefs from my own experiences and various religions that felt comfortable and right to me so I pieced them together). She was always trying to convince me that I needed to believe in god or I would go to hell and refused to listen when I tried to explain to her why I didn't believe in the Christian god. She would drag me to church and would often try to lend me her bible during bible study or try and get me to take communion and all of that in an attempt to show me she was right. In the end I just let her drag me where she wanted and subject me to what she wanted because it made her happy and made her feel like she was doing something good. I can't speak for your friends, but I knew that she was just concerned about me and really believed that my soul was going to burn in hell. She was just trying to help me and thankfully after patiently waiting it out she eventually realized she wasn't going to change my mind and stopped trying (much to my relief). We're still very good friends we just don't talk about religion anymore.

That is whats wrong with some religions, they have everyone who believes in it, brainwashed that they're friends are all going to hell... That is why they try so hard to convince you, they are just concerned... I remember when I used to be a christian, listening to the preacher talk about how my non religious friends are going to hell and if I didn't save them they're blood was on my hands... It is all bull melarky. (yes I just made that word up.)

One question that none of them could ever answer me to my liking was why would a god who is supposed to be loving and kind and tolerant create a place where you would suffer without redemption for the rest of eternity because you exercised the very free will that he gave you in the first place?

She always tried to counter that it was like being told not to touch a hot stove and then doing so anyway and getting burned. Of course then she could never grasp the concept that a burn is a temporary reminder while hell is permanent. And what of people from different countries and cultures who never had the knowledge of her god and never had the chance to accept him? Or what about newborn infants who would never get old enough to understand something like religion? Do those people who don't have faith, through no fault of their own, go to hell as well?

Well first off I'd have to say that I had a bit of trouble reading what that said... But I get crap for not being Christian in a rather Conservative Christian area, so yeah I feel you there in part.

I do think that a few extraneous letters should be taken out of the OP to assist the ease of reading.

So your friends are trying to convert you by debating you, threatening you with eternal damnation, and, when those strategies fail, they resort to racism. Really classy. Why are these people you friends?

You are living right now so stop wasting your time trying to convince people you're going here when you die or you're wasting what little bit of life you got. Instead of talking about shit that may or may not happen go get laid, read a book, hang with friends, do some pot, drink some beer, go lift weights, go running/biking, go swimming, go take a trip somewhere. Who cares what you do, aslong as you're having fun doing it and living because once you die you're not living and you can't do this and if nothing happens you just wasted your life doing nothing when you coulda been doing something.
