if the moon werent here, then nothing would happen exept there would be no tides. the moons gravitational pull isnt enough to make any more affect that that. and i dodnt know hoe the hell anyone can think we wouldnt be here if the moon wasnt there. |

well, if u multiply the quantum physics in co-ordinance with the earth and the moons equaliteral sub division, then it would OBVIOUSLY disrupt the magnetic gravitational force. |

This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

ye ive read it, so things probably would be different, but if the moon had never been there, then us humans would be fine because it would just be that way so we would have already learned to live that way, but if it were to dissappear now, then we would be stuffed. the changes we would have to make would be astronomical. this is if that article is correct. |

Maybe the moon affects the periods of women? They do have 28 day period cycle, like the moon has a 28 day cycle. Could be coincidence of course, because with other animals this is not the case. |

It can also apparently be changed simply through exposure to the hormones of other females, manipulating that cycle regardless of the period of the moon. So if it does play a role, it's supposed to be one that can be over-ruled by other PMSing women |
|
the last research I read actually suggested women started their month right before the new moon. and since ancient cultures back then were paying attention to the heavens, women knew what night they were going to start and so on |
|
Certainly in urban enviroments at least, the moon will make no difference to us at all. On the rare occasions that we are outside at dark, all the street lighting and such completely dwarfs the moon's light. |
|
What I've also been wondering is why does a month have 31/30/28 days? |
|
"Reject common sense to make the impossible possible." -Kamina
We divide the year into 12 because 12 has many factors (we can easily split it into half a year, a quarter of a year, etcetera; same reason we have 12 hours); 13 has no factors. |
|
It not exactly a quarter, is it? |

It's not like anybody is counting that extra percentage after the quarter...are they? |

Funny you should say that; there was a leap second this year. |

The moon has no power actually, because its velocity is perpendicular to the centripetal gravitational force. |

In all seriousness, on what reasoning and/or evidence do you base this belief? |

I for one like the majority of the things you write, as long as you don't get too rude, aggressive, or condescending to the other members. I think the main problem the staff have with you is that attitude with which you pwn people, not the fact that you do. Then again, I'm not a mod. |
|
I dunno, do you see swimming pools being affected by the moon's gravity? |

naturals are what we call people who did all the right things accidentally
You say the same thing every time you make a post. |
