Also it is important to mention that probably none of these people guessing are experts on core astrology (myself included), making this whole thing as pointless as he believes astrology to be.

Indeed, this is a proven fact. The lump of rock and gas that has the most effect is named Sun, although the one named Earth is such a close second that its hard to tell the difference. I think it would be more logical to believe that the cycles of this planet are what effect your life and personality, and that constellations are mere markers of those effects, don't you? Why should lumps of gas several lightyears away somehow mark the effects of the orbit of the Earth around the Sun?
And no, the Earth and Sun do not affect me in a way that is at all different from how they affect everyone else.
