Yes it is important for emotional completion, I agree with you, but I'm not sure if this type of sadness is specifically NEEDED, as in MUST, for happiness (happiness not emotional completion) to be able to exist.

I wouldn't want to be there permanently, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to just take an extended vacation to there at will.
