When someone thinks all the time they end up with nothing to think about but thoughts. And this endless chatter will eventually make you in one way disconected from the real world. Thoughts are of course not reality. They are useful symbols to depict reality. But here is a situation where the symbols are just looping in on themselves, deteriorating, depicting only themselves and not the real thing. Reality can not be put into words. So the real question you are asking is not, how do I stop thinking? You are asking, whether you know it or not, how to get back in touch. The answer is that it's the easiest thing in the world to do.
