This thread refers back to an earlier one I started. Since I am new hear, I cannot link to it, but it was entitled "My Subconscious Is Frightened Of Me". In that topic, I referred to a block i was having regarding lucid dreaming. This thread shows how that discussion benefitted me almost instantly. I thought it was different enough and important enough for anyone having the same problem that it deserved it's own topic.
Anyway, after talking through the problem of my "frightened subconscious" with you folks, I had a very interesting experience last night. It was a fully lucid dream, my third since actually starting this study two months ago. It was very brief, but very powerful.
After the alarm went off this morning, I was lying in bed for a few minutes dozing, and fell into a half-dream state. I saw myself lying on my bed. The room around me had become a dreary, black and white scene. Flying above me on the bed was a fairy creature. He had a pear shaped body, was dressed like an Irish Leprechaun, and had two insect-like wings, that were beating more rapidly than the eye could see. He was maybe 18 inches tall, wearing a bowler hat, and hovering about a foot above me.
After a few seconds, he turned , and started to fly away. I called out to him in a friendly manner, "Hey, come back here." He immediately turned back around, and stood on my left forearm, watching my face. I asked him, "Can you help me lucid dream?"
The fairy-creature said nothing, but his body started to glow and spark, and he immediately started to sink into the flesh of my forearm, which also started to glow.
At that point, I awoke.
I felt this was highly significant, and that I had achieved a major breakthrough between my conscious and subconscious minds, as if the two were finally willing to start communicating and working together, after many years of fighting. I am not sure exactly what it means, but I felt it was both positive and very important.
I would love to hear other's ideas on this experience.
Again, thanks to everyone for even the brief discussions had with me previously. I am also sure that those were very significant in bringing about this experience. I think this goes to show that, since lucid dreaming is 90% a subconscious experience, just being able to talk it out and speak about what you and others think regarding dreaming, symbols, blocks and other problems can be extremely helpful.
