      Pocket Stones

      Many years a go when I was looking for a shiny crystal (I just wanted one, okay?) my father and I found one of those stores filled with dream catchers, gems, and incense that gives you a headache.
      He got me a little pocket stone that says "inspiration" on it. Here it is:


      So anyway, today I found it and decided to bring it along with me through the day. I often bite my nails, or rest my hands on my face when I am thinking (which is great for catching the flu) so I figured I could keep my hands busy with this beautiful stone. Plus the fact it has "inspiration" on it makes it more of a novelty.
      Then I wondered, what exactly is the point of these rocks? Sure, they make neat gifts, they are nice to hold, and they have a little charm about them. But other than being a waste of money, what are they made for? Are they suppose to have some sort of spiritual or traditional meaning about them? Is it just another way for people to sell you junk?

      That's funny, as I was cleaning out my room I found a stone from a long long time ago that says "lucky" on it...and I was wondering what the heck it was and where it came from. I really can't remember.

      I had one that said "Read your Bible" on it. Turns out rocks that are that smooth are fantastic for skipping.
