I'm an SD book junkie. I see self-development as positive action we can take to make our lives better. When we work on ourselves, we build pride and self-respect. And while self-acceptance is extremely important, working on oneself does NOT mean you don't accept yourself as you are. For example. You may be overweight, but getting healthy, getting in shape, making better eating choices - this is not a lack of self-acceptance. This is positive action. Be careful - self-acceptance can even be an excuse at times.
