When hard drives started using flash memory instead of disks, I started naming my computers after science fictional faster-than-light drives. Why? Because one of the names for a flash memory drive is "jump drive." My current drive's name is Inversion Drive, from Catherine Asaro's Saga of the Skolian Empire. |
