Paying attention in reality can be very hard to do. What are your trigger list. If you don't mind me asking?
You can start here. [link]
I know we have a book section that may help you here: [link]

Hi Lang! Thank you for your message and the very useful links.
When it comes to awareness, I meditate 2-3 times per day. This is something I have been doing for years, because I'm interested in Buddhism and non-duality, and that's actually one of my main motivators to practice lucid dreaming (I want to be able to practice dream yoga).
So I've made a (quite basic) trigger list for RCs last night. When I see, hear one of the triggers or do a certain action on the list, I do a reality check (I alternate between physical reality checks and critical thinking about my current state), and then after I did that RC, I alternate between either trying to be aware of my current experience for a few minutes, or "pretend" that I'm actually dreaming, and trying to visualize what I'd be doing of I'd be dreaming right now. I hope this make sense.
This is my trigger list for each day of the week (consisting of something I see, something I hear and 2 actions):
Monday
- Using the bathroom
- Seeing my reflection
- Hearing a dog bark
- Using a pen
Tuesday
- Using a (light) switch
- Hearing the washing machine (Tuesday is laundry day, lol)
- Seeing an ad (found this one on the forum)
- Brushing my teeth
Wednesday
- Brushing my hair
- Seeing a tree
- Hearing my neighbors make noise (I live in an apparent with neighbors on all sides)
- Checking Reddit
Thursday
- Reading a text message
- Seeing someone I know
- Hearing a bird
- Putting my aligners in or out (I have dental aligners to fix my teeth)
Friday
- Throwing something in the trash
- Noticing a light source (lamp, candle, sunbeams)
- Hearing people having a conversation
- Applying make-up
Saturday
- Going outside or entering a building
- Seeing someone with glasses (found this one on the forum)
- Hearing someone laugh
- Drinking something
Sunday
- Eating something
- Seeing something purple
- Hearing music
- Pausing the tv (Sunday is often lazy day)
