      Hello

      Hello

i don't really know what else i could say in this post, so sorry to any mods/admins if this isn't a long enough post for an intro

well, i suppose i could say this: I happened to get a real interest in lucid dreaming after i saw a meme about it, ever since then, i've been googling everything i could about it, this forum happened to be one of the results, hopefully will figure out how to lucid dream (i actually tried last night, next thing i knew it was today, i haz horrible memory of when i'm asleep, lol)

also, since i already am making this post, i'm going to add a small question

i found out about sleep paralysis, and am wondering if it's dangerous at all, and if there's any risk of danger when it happens? (as from what i've seen, if you try to get lucid dreams, you may end up having sleep paralysis)

      Hi logoster, welcome!

There is nothing dangerous about sleep paralysis - the opposite, in fact: it is a mechanism designed to protect you from moving around in the real world and accidentally hurting yourself while you dream.

A good practice to improve your memory is to think back through your day in fast-rewind mode within a few minutes before going to sleep, e.g.: reading about lucid dreaming, brushing teeth, watching tv, eating dinner, driving back from work or school, working, eating lunch, working, driving to work or school, eating breakfast, brushing teeth, waking up. Try it for a few weeks... it might take a few days before you make it to the beginning of the day without falling asleep, but before you know it, you will start remembering things from the day in vivid detail, almost as vivid as when they happened. Then your dream recall will also improve.

Ah, nice to know it isn't dangerous.

Ill be sure to try that tonight as well (the improving memory part)

(Also, i just happened to think of another question: in lucid dreams if you eat something, like mint choc chip ice cream for example, would you be able to taste it?)

Yes, you can experience all senses as in waking life.

Check our WiKi for Sleep Paralysis phenomena.

It is just a state of Body Asleep and Mind Awake and it is 100% safe. You got nothing to worry about it, just ignore it and visualize your desired dream scenario when you find yourself with sleep paralysis. You will soon enter a lucid dream.
