Greetings all!

I am just learning that what I can do is something "special." From as far back as the age of 10-11 I can recall being able to 1) understand that I was in a dream; and 2) be able to fully control that dream. When I was around 10-11 I used my lucid dreaming for what I would imagine would be standard dreams for those hitting the front end of puberty. Moving on from that I was able to control all aspects of my dream. I was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, and was promptly put on medication which stunted all dreaming. This medication stopped not just lucid dreaming, but all dreaming in its totality. I recently changed to a new class of medication, and to my surprise, the dreams came charging back into my life. I just today told my girlfriend about my dreams, and my ease that I can control all aspects of them. She informed me that it is actually a rare thing. Upon doing some cursory searching on the internet I came across this website, and joined to share my experiences. I never knew lucid dreaming was a "thing," or even that people trained themselves to be able to do it until about 20 minutes ago.

So....that's my story. Hopefully I was able to captivate readers enough to get to this point :-). I am extremely excited that I have begun to dream again after a more than decade hiatus. Taking in the information from my childhood, and the dreams that I have begun having again, I have lucid dreams about 90-95% of the time. I can recall loving going to sleep as a child because I absolutely loved the "other world" that I was able to go into.

Like I said, I was unaware that lucid dreaming was even a "thing" until about 20 minutes or so ago. This is the first stop in my quest to expand my knowledge in this new-found field. If I find any who are interested, I will continue to update with any new information I can recall.

Thank you all, and respectfully,
-Bret
