I got into the habit of looking at my hands before I started lucid dreaming & every time awake in a dream my hands looked normal. Until not so long ago when I looked at my hand in a dream & it looked weird, when I woke up I realized that I had slept on it funny & my hand had gone numb.

So this trick only works if you sleep with a weight on your hands & that seems to trick your mind into thinking that your hands are a different shape to normal.

Funny really, like when your asleep you don't really know what your current body looks like.

Off subject; have you ever looked into a mirror while lucid dreaming? once I looked like I did when I was a lot younger, another time I looked like I did at another stage in my life.

Welcome jcd! It's great to have you with us.

It sounds like you are already pretty well acquainted with the basics of lucid dreaming, so just look around the forums, check out the Dream Journal system, and just have a great time! If you need any more specific pointers on where to find things, feel free to reply here or hit myself or any of the other Dream Guides up on PM.

Ahh, mirrors are great! I have never looked the same way twice in mirrors, but it's always interesting. In general I'm myself but usually dressed like a goofball and possessing an idealized, super-buff physique. It's often a remix of old looks -- perhaps the way I wore my hair in high school, or I'm in glasses again like when I was really a kid, etc.

Mirrors are also great for when you're trying to do some sort of transformation or body modification. If you have any goals such as changing into some kind of animal/werewolf, growing additional limbs, or otherwise modifying your dream body, mirrors are fun for watching the process unfold. I was removing my own head once in a lucid dream and this was so much cooler to do while watching in a mirror.
