Hey Sterling! That's great that you've had 5 DILDs so far. I'd love to read them. If you want, you can start a public dream journal on DV (or just stick with a written one, your choice), here: Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views - Member DJs - Dream Journals

      Welcome to the class

      to the intro class!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thank you guys! I'm so happy I found this site! By the way my DILD's were a wile back and I couldn't really control them that well. They were not pleasant. I just realized they were dreams and woke myself up. That is a DILD right?

Yep, I agree with Taylor. Those were DILDs. DILDs are basicall when you get lucid while you are in the middle of a dream

Had LD last night. But they weren't like I could control them. The hardest part was not waking up. I had about 3 dreams last night. There were only 2 that were Lucid. I just knew they were dreams and had to focus really hard on not waking up. I couldn't really control them yet.

P.S: Finished all lesson I assignments! And started LessonII assignments. My methods I chose 2 practice for 2 weeks (or more) are Dream yoga and DILD. Oh and does anyone have tips on getting more control of my dreams?

Hmm you should check out this stabilization tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/ninas-...torial-118317/

You can stabilize your dream to prevent it from falling apart, and thus prevent you from waking up soon.

As for dream control, see this quick tutorial: Dream Control Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views (there are also some links at the bottom for user tutorials)

      Hope this helps.

Congratulations, Mr. SterlingCooperDraperPryce! I hope that you understand how well you're doing. If only I were cursed with nights with "only 2 that were lucid"!

My biggest piece of advice would be to try to focus on what you do want rather than on preventing what you don't want. Don't think too much about your sleeping body, at least not at first. Instead, get drawn into your dream scene and dream body. Rub your hands together over each other and your forearms. Look close-up at your hands and other objects in the dream scene, marveling at how detailed they are.

For dream control, my general advice is remarkably similar. You have to keep doubt and distraction from your mind. I find that the best way to do this is to think in detail about what you want to happen. Timidly hoping that you'll fly, for example, isn't quite enough. Focusing on where you want to fly to, the lightness of your body, the feel of the wind brushing past your body as you soar... the more of these sorts of details that you try to create, the more of your mental energy gets poured into what you're trying to make happen.

You're doing great! The best way to improve lucid dreaming stability and control is to simply spend more time in lucid dreams. And with you getting two in one night... well, it's hard to do much better than that!

That is a fact a DILD. Any dream in which you are aware it is a dream is a lucid dream, whether you have complete control or no control at all.

ugh, I'm really having trouble with my lucidity. Even remebering my dreams. Its getting really discouraging. Does anyone have any methods for practicing my awareness during the day? (other than RC's I do those already.)

This is somethig me and many other people are practicing: http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/all-da...gyoshi-113253/

If you'd like to give that a go. It's really helped me so much, I'm certain it has made me have all these lucids since I started practicing it. It is difficult at first, and tiring, but I did it one step at a time and ended up really boosting my lucid mindset

Nah, you are doing just fine... great, in fact! Remember that you are learning a completely new skill here, one that will take time to gain complete control over. You've already proven to yourself that you're capable of having lucid dreams. (Two in a night, in fact... I should like to be so fortunate!)

So let's look at each element in turn. First, dream recall. The first step, as always, is to maintain a detailed dream journal that you fill in upon every awakening. If you don't have a full dream, place your fragments and feelings in there. If your online journal is impractical for this level of detail, a written journal works great here. This is what I do.

It's also helpful to review past dreams as you fall asleep and really think about what you would like to dream as you fall asleep. Additionally, let me post a tip that I ripped off from the amazing paigeyemps herself: before bed, emphasize to yourself that you must recall your dreams. It is the one thing that is on your to-do list when you fall asleep. You must remember what happened. For a full treatment of night-time routines, RareCola's excellent guide is the place to go: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/night-...cidity-132655/

Now, the second element is getting lucid. The first thing to do here is relax and take your time learning this. You have the ultimate potential to have lucid dreams any night that you wish but be patient with yourself during this process of learning how to get there. It takes time, and dreams are wild things that like to slip away when gripped too desperately. Trust yourself, and give yourself the patience and time you need to go through this process of self-discovery. Enjoy the journey! It's a lot of fun but it will take time and effort.

You've gotten some great advice on awareness in the posts above. All-day awareness practices can be taxing at first, so ease into them, take note of the skills as they build within you, and keep us up to date in your workbook. Keep us updated on how you are approaching CAT. Or if you are still deciding which induction technique to use, check out Lesson II, which is all about that: http://www.dreamviews.com/f151/begin...son-ii-131245/

You've already impressed me. Now all that's left is to impress yourself. Take the time that you need, settle in, and enjoy the ride. You will get there if you stick with it!
