I just had this crazy idea that is bouncing in my brain and gettin' me all excited an' stuff.

I could use Lucid Dreaming to contact my Imaginary Friend!

Her name was Lapidy, (Named her when I saw the Statue of Liberty in New York when I was 3 - I couldn't say my "r"s =P) and she was my wife for like, two years.

I had a whole story about where she came from and all this crazy crap. Both of us were from different planets, and she brought me to Earth via a spaceship, and then turned me into a "Spirit", and placed me into my mom's womb, and she got pregnent.

Anyway, she quite possibly could be my Dream Guide - since anyone who's ever had an IF knows that they're really special and important, and have waay more character than a DC.

So what about you guys? Did you have any imaginary friends? Ever meet up with them in a Lucid Dream?

when I was five years old I saw a glowing skeleton. He poked his head through the doorway of my bed room, gave me a huge smile and waved at me. It was the most randomn experience of my life.

the next day I decided he would be my imaginary friend, though I never actually saw him again or believed he was real. I just believed even as young as I was, that I was just losing it

Ive yet to meet my dream guide

How exactly, does a skeleton smile? lol wierd how we percieve things ay!

I had an imaginary friend when I was little but he wasn't really a friend in the traditional sense. But he helped me escape reality when times were tough, so in that sense he was a friend, he was helpful. I used to see him run from behind one couch to another really fast, or running out the door, I'd spend hours looking for him but never found him. I still occasionally, though not very often, see him again. And I have a new imaginary friend now called Mal (he may be the same old one coz he also help me) who I talk to sometimes and also he is, I dont know if you could call it a dream guide, but when I have dreams and there is someone with me but I don't really know who it is I have a feeling that it is him. But it's strange because when I am fully awake I can have full conversations with him as long as I'm not drunk, and it's like tapping into my subconscious. In the sense that he answers all my queries truthfully according to what is deep inside me.

haha, well once you get older I believe it becomes harder to see them, unless you develop a mental disorder such as schizophrenia. But yes, I did see him. Does anyone else actually see their friend without trying?

I had a friend named Sam. He hair messy green hair and orangy skin. I think I actually saw him once behind my bed. My older sister tells me Sam was everywhere all the time. I was always saving places at tables for him and stuff like that.
And I did see him in a dream recently. He's changed and grown too. It was weird. :/

Oh em gee, I think Lapidy had orange skin too! lol.

It's interesting how your friend Sam "grew up" when you met him.

When we wree younger, our imagination was soo huge that most of us could lucid dream expectionally easily if we knew about it.
Our line of "reality" and "imaginary" was thin and blurred.
=( I sorta miss that time.

My friend, if he is the same one of course, has also grown up.

This is so true, when you are a kid you walk around in a daze most of the time, its proven that a big part of your childhood is spent daydreaming!

I also miss it, especially looking back at what I could have achieved coz, like some other really good ld'ers have said, they used to be able to recognize they were dreaming during a nightmare and wake themself up, i could also do this, but if i had known about ld'ing i could have tried to do other things instead of making myself wake up.

      lol OneRyt,
metcalfracing I don't see him any more, but I jsut feel him in my dreams, like when theres someone I don't know who it is, like 'with' me I believe it his him. But I don't see him IRL I can just kind of pretend he is there as a way to tap into my subconscious. So in a sense, he is still real to me but not as a person, as a pathway to my subconscious.

okay, good. Its just sort of a bad thing to see imaginary people when your older... Note this is how Donnie Darko started.

      Lol at Donnie Darko.

He was actually in an alternate dimension caused by a wormhole, and Frank the bunnyman was the person who died in the alternate dimension and was talking to Donnie to help him return that jet engine to the original dimension.

But yeah. I felt like being difficult. I see what you're getting at.

lol yeh, most people just like the idea of Donnie Darko being a mystery sort of, not really knowing fully what happened. But, like you I figured it out too lol. Kinda ruined it a bit but still a great movie. But metcalfracing I see what ya gettin at. although I wouldn't mind being able to see an imaginary person, as long as I didn't get any crazier than that and knew that he wasn't actually real.

I never did have an Imaginary Friend. I felt so bad for myself when all the cool kids walked around the playground with their imaginary frends.

I'm jealous. I can either not remember my childhood imaginary amigo, or I did not have one. I do remember seeing lights of various colors floating on my ceiling at night when i was about 3-4-5 years old or thereabouts. I can't quite recall what they meant, but my dad remembers me telling him about the lights. *shrug* maybe just aliens.

I once read a book, although I've forgotten what it's called.
Think it was "Dreamrider" or something like that.
Anyway, it was what got me into lucid dreaming, cos the main character could. But the funny thing is, he also had imaginary friends too!
But at the end of the book it had a endnote that basically said:

Lucid dreaming is a real and amazing thing, but sadly so is mental illness etc etc.

I never had an imaginary friend when i was younger, cept i could find stuff do to with a cardboard box!
Damm school and video games, wrecks ur imagination.
