One of my LD goals is to LD myself in a videogame. I was wondering, how do you do it. I mean things such as character selection, health bars, energy meters, etc. How do they appear in a dream and what do they look like? |

If I tried this, I would try summoning a virtual reality headset, putting it on and playing whatever game on that. I figure that once immersed enough in the game that I forget about the headset, the headset will go away, resulting in me being in the game. |

I remember playing Doom a good amount of time, and seeing in on my dreams sometimes. So it would be a good idea to play the game you wanna dream a lot. I think this is called the Tetris effect: |

This may not answer your question, but anyway, I once entered a lucid dream by dreaming of playing a game. It was the night after I actually played the game, but with a different class than usually. So I assume that the novelty of the behavior somehow affected my unconscious memory, leaking out in the form of dream. I realized very quickly that this wasn't real - this must be a game, and I am going to fully immerse into my character. The real "this is a dream" feeling came only gradually. The gear on my body was made from hard plastic, low-poly and faked. I was holding a low-poly pistol and when I tried to shoot from it, the trigger didn't move |

I have game dreams quite often including virtual reality game style dreams where I'm inside the game. I get them too often actually. Some of them have interfaces such as health bars, skills etc. In lucids I have either become lucid while within a game, turned on my computer or console to open a game within the dream, or use virtual reality headset to get in a game. Some of the virtual reality style dreams where I'm inside the game don't have interface visible all the time. Instead I get a sort of holographic representation where and when I need it. I have recently played an immersive VR version of Overwatch game in a dream. It was fun. Over the last couple of years I noticed that dream control within the confines of the game mechanics is easier when in a game dream. ^^ |

I get the same type of dream far too often too. I never have any UI in the dream. Oddly enough, most of my game dreams are in third-person looking down at myself. This often desensitizes my body's senses and makes the dream feel very much like playing a videogame. |
|
I've quite frequently had dreams about playing a game I often used to play as a kid. It was called Super Monkey Ball, and I still have dreams about it, including lucid ones -- in fact that became one of my lucidity triggers! It tends to blend and shift between the experience of me "playing" the game, being in the game, or merely observing it. |

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;

Good question. I dream of video games. Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and then some games that only exist in my dreams. One lucid dream I had, my friend and I went in front of the TV and "blue skidooed" into the screen. We had to fight through various levels. In another game I remember being lucid and activating the game through a computer interface. If I can think of the specific DJ entry or if I have any in the next few nights I'll post the excerpt here. |
