If you have the music memorized and you can remember it instantly off the top of your head, you can play it but there is something special about music in a dream that I haven't seen here discussed at all. In waking life, you listen to music with your ears. You also hear at different dynamics, (loud and quiet). But when you're asleep, you don't listen with your ears, you feel it in your consciousness. When playing music, I try to imagine it being played soo loud that if I were to listen to it in waking life, my ears would rupture and I would feel the sound waves. Translates to some epic bass and kick ass music while you sleep.
Try to memorize a song line for line, bar for bar. Then play it in a dream as loud as possible.
