Wink How it feels like to fly for the first time in a lucid dream

Everything is set, you start to flap your arms/ levitate/ jump up and down.

0 m : " Cmonn workkk, please!" flap flap flap / standing still trying to lift yourself/ hop hop hop "Aaaghh!"

0 m : (Realization): "Wait a minute, why am I trying to fly, when I simply can?"

You feel something changing in your very essence

0.5 m : "hhh... woohh... no way dude..."

      2 m : " Holy. "

You start to question everything from sheer amazement, you freeze in mid-air and start to slowly float back down.

      1 m : "Aaaaaghhh nooo!!"

FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP "Nnyarrgghh!!!( followed by grunting noises )

0.75m ( Second realization ) : "No... NO. I can fly, I CAN fly!" I CAN FLY!! FLY!!!"

Your mind sharpens, everything's possible. Your doubts disappear. A jolt of confidence. You look up to the skies awaiting, and as if the dream and you spoke without words with the same voice:

      "Let's do this"

      5 m : "hhhhhhh"

      15 m : "Hhaaaaaaaaa"

      30 m : "WOOoooohhh....!"

      50 m : "...HHAAAAaaaahhhh!"

      75 M : "HHAAAAAHH! -

      100 M : AAAAAAAAAA!! -

      150 M : AH HAH HAAAAAAA!!!!"

      "WUUUUU!!!"

      "AH HHAH HAAA!!"

      "JEAAAAAHHH!!!"

Absolute bliss. Utter freedom. The wind rushes through your hair as you pass the clouds above you.

You swirl through them effortlessly , pointing your hands forward like your childhood hero.

You look down, trying to remember what it felt like to be imprisoned by gravity, but you can't. You're reborn.

Curving and diving, rising and swerving. As if you've always known how to. You're natural.

You say nothing. You think nothing. But the feelings you're experiencing are countless and impossible to be put on words.

The wind blows a tear off from your cheek.

You never want this moment to pass, this is the greate- Drrt Drrt Drrt Drrt

Haha, perfect description :P Unfortunately I'm still on the doubts step :c Usually when I try to fly I'm just falling down and hitting ground after first attempt and waking up. Too many emotions.

I had a recent LD where I was teaching a DC to fly for the first time and just saw the DC failing by jumping up and falling down, so all I said was:

"Don't just jump. Imagine yourself floating there *points to area above the ground and my head*, but also imagine that there is no force pulling you down"

The DC then tried again and succeeded straight away. Felt like my words were pretty clear at the time and what made the difference. Who knows.
Then proceeded to fly towards the sun superman style with said DC only to then uncontrollably crash towards a city unable to slow down, change direction or stop. Hit the ground and barely felt a thing haha.

This thread reminded of this so I thought I would share. (Why not?)

Whenever I have trouble flying by myself, I summon a magic broom like from Harry Potter. Since I know magic brooms will fly, this one technique has never failed me.

How does it feel to fly on a broom? I always imagined it would be rather uncomfortable having all your weight on the thin broomstick.

I didnt have to much trouble getting off the ground my first time, but landing was the hard part. I basically just crashed into the ground and got back up.
      New goals TBA

My first lucid flight (my 3rd lucid dream) was an "Oh my God!" moment for me. When I woke up, I couldnt go back to sleep for 2 hours as my life was forever changed. I realized the awesome power of lucid dreaming as that experience exceeded anything I had done "for real". I became lucid on a college campus... and was walking down a sidewalk when I just had the urge to fly instead of walk so i did a superman takeoff and I flew over buildings and saw them move away under me as I flew over them. It was one of the most memorable experiences for me ever.

For me, it was the experience of repelling myself from the earth by having the opposite "energy" of it, magnetic energy. Ended up in the stratosphere in a few seconds and then back in and so on for a while until I learnt how to control it, barely had time to think and feel lots of vertigo yep.

Yes flying is just sooo much fun Sometimes it goes amazingly well as it did the first time I did it -" wooohoooo - I am flying woooooohooooooo!"

...then other times it's a bit different but always worth a try in my dreams

I can't control it very well so far. Sometimes I fly faster than light and sometimes I crash into everything on my way haha

Fun learning process though... perfect description!

Naw. I was flying on one a few nights back and was perfectly comfortable. Hey, its a dream remember...no gravity to pull your body down or really anything that would make you uncomfortable. No different than free flight except I was sitting up.
