Exclamation For those suffering from lack of sleep...?

Hello! It's been a while since I last posted. Anyways, I have a concern and question. Right now, I've been very busy with college and work. To the point where, at the most, I get only 4 hours of sleep. Maybe even less The reason why is because my family is suffering from lack of income. And so I have to work to help support everyone. The only time I get enough sleep is on Saturday nights. So my question is, since lucid dreaming is usually best when one gets enough sleep, how can I get lucid with such little sleep? I really want to become lucid. But it seems so hard with my schedule. I heard of REM rebound. And maybe I can use that as an advantage for the nights I do get enough sleep. Can any of you guys suggest to me a technique or even just give me general tips?
Thanks! Any response is greatly appreciated!

You could try to find some time in the day to take a nap. If you could nap long enough to dream, that's an extra chance each day to lucid dream. Look up polyphasic sleep cycles and see if you could find one that you can do.

      Hey there,

Lucid dreaming with little sleep is always going to be a tough proposition. Even on nights where you do get enough sleep, your body will likely be so tired out your sleep will be very deep (as the body catches up on rest).

That said, for me personally, I think I've noticed a slightly higher chance of getting a WILD when I'm really tired. Maybe because when I lie down, the transition to sleeping just happens so fast, my mind doesn't always have time to follow suit and I find myself still consciousness when the dreams start. Mind you, I don't WILD a lot so I'm no expert, but if others report similar experiences, it might be worth trying to have a small WBTB on the days when you do get to sleep a little longer, and see if that works.

      Just some thoughts,

Whenever I'm sleep deprived I often get sleep paralysis upon falling asleep. If you're tired the chances of having SP are increased (not really a good thing) but if you are strong-willed enough you could use the sleep paralysis to enter a lucid dream perhaps.
Honestly sleep is so important that I would maybe take a break from active methods of LDing if i were you, and instead just focus on MILD, however do whatever you feel comfortable with
good luck with your lucid dreaming!
