I wanted to be able to fall asleep on my back for years, I try it very rarely, because every time I do, after 10 minutes it feels like I'm laying on rocks and needles. My bed is soft and smooth, I'm rarely uncomfortable when I lay on my side, so I don't know why I start feeling like that. It gets so uncomfortable that it becomes painful and I feel a very, very strong urge to roll on my side to be comfortable and fall asleep.
The problem with sleeping on my side is that I cannot for the life of me stay awake to perform a WILD in that position, while on my back I am always way too aware and get very uncomfortable. I tried to deal with side sleeping countless times, trying to hold my awareness but it seems futile, so I'm hoping there's a way I can train my body to relax and fall asleep on my back so the balance can occur there. Is it possible? Has anyone successfully went from an exclusively side-sleeper to back-sleep-capable?
