Hey guys!! So ecstatic to be posting this. So a few days ago (haven't gotten around to posting until now) I had my first legitimate lucid dream!! I've had 2 before this but they only lasted like 10 seconds and I was unable to exert any real control over the dream. Hopefully you guys will find this interesting
So in my dream, I'm in this woods-ish area that also has some buildings/tents around, idk very hard to explain this location haha. Anyway, by an act of random fortune (or I'd like to think by the months of effort I've been putting forth.. ) I became lucid! I looked at my hands and although they didn't really look strange or unreal, it just clicked in my head that this must be a dream and *boom* I was lucid! I rubbed my hands together (it felt so real!!) to stabilize the dream and thought to RC to double check, but as I had that thought the person standing next to me put his hands on my shoulder and said to me, "yep, you're dreaming!" so I didn't even need to bother
Anyway, I don't think I was "fully" lucid because I didn't think to try flying or any of my other list of lucid dream activities, but the first thing I thought to do was paint. In waking life, I love art and heck I am myself an artist, I make oil paintings of landscapes and various things I find beautiful (if anyone would be interested in seeing some of my work please let me know ). Anyway, I figured hey, if I can imagine my paints and easel set up behind me, when I turn around they'll be there! And when I did... there they were! Such an incredible feeling..
Anyway, I turned to the canvas and started to paint. It was amazing, I could paint and paint without having to load my brush with a different color or paint meticulously slowly to get what I wanted, it all just flowed as if directly from my imagination... I cannot describe the feeling. Anyway, this is where it gets insane.
I thought to myself, you know what, this is a dream I can do literally anything! So I set the intention to paint what I wanted to see, and then look away from the canvas to see the "real life" version of the landscape I was painting (if that makes sense). I painted a blue sky, a few clouds and some majestic mountains with a wide valley and pine trees in the foreground. I stared at it for a few seconds, repeated my intention with real will and force behind it and looked up....
To see the most amazing sight I've ever laid my eyes upon. Before me, was the realistic/3D-rendered version of the painting I'd just created. But it was real.... The clouds I painted were exactly where I placed them, the mountains looked so realistic.. and I even walked up to and was able to touch the pine tree I painted up close. The bark felt so real, I could even smell the sap on my hands for christ's sake. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life. I remember staring in awe at the beauty before me for a while but I think I got just got lost in it and became unfocused on the fact that I was dreaming, I feel like I didn't just immediately wake up at that point but I think the dream continued with me being non-lucid, and I woke up shortly after.
Honestly, seeing the way my painting translated into real life, I think it's made me a better artist. I can better understand certain aspects of landscape paintings now having seen the real version that I really think I can make a drastic improvement in the way I paint things.
I know this was really long, and thank you so much if you were able to read it all (I hope it makes sense hahaha), but I really just had to share this with you guys. You've been there to help me along the whole way, even before I ever registered on this forum, and I can say that without a doubt I would not have had this experience or be where I am today without you guys. You have seriously changed my life, and I am forever grateful. Keep rocking on guys.
