My dreams are becoming more lucid, but what does it mean?

I want to elaborate on this much more, but only have time for a quick post now. Basically, I have always had vivid dreams, but more and more lately I find myself aware of when I am in a dream. I know how to fly in dreams, how to actually raise myself from the "ground" and fly. This happens more and more frequently but I often find myself getting "stuck" on objects as I try to pass through. Once in a dream, I got stuck as I was flying through an open field and suddenly found myself stuck in the screen door of a house. I once realized I was dreaming while in an old house with a crumbling staircase and as I floated above it, I found myself stuck in the stairs, with an internal view of the fibers of wood, and the closest thing I can relate it to is like a video game "gliching". It's hard to explain but I am hopeful that I will find people here who understand and can offer some insight.

Also, a general question about those of us who do have powerful dream projections... What is the benefit of dream control? I know this question sounds silly... but I know so many people who don't even dream or simply can't remember them. I see articles online that offer advice on how to achieve lucid dreaming and I know it's not easy for everyone. But I find myself awake in my dreams pretty often. So what now? What can I really do with this once I stop getting stuck in screens and stairways?

Well, I would imagine that one benefit of dream control is that you could use it to stop getting stuck in objects. Being in control of your dreams allows you to overcome obstacles and other annoyances that you may encounter in your dreams. In addition, it can be used to have a lot of fun. You can use it for anything you can imagine really.

Mưa về bên phố, ánh đèn đường hắt hiu đôi vai gầy. Mưa rả rích, lúc gần, lúc xa, lúc chông chênh, đứt đoạn như khúc nhạc buồn trong tâm trạng ai đó. Nỗi nhớ cứ thi nhau vò nhàu nhĩ hoài niệm. Lý trí kháng cự yếu ớt để mặc con tim cứ lỗi nhịp trôi về phía ngày cũ. Và ngoài kia mưa vẫn rơi. Mưa theo từng giọt rơi đổ xuống, bủa vây lấy cái phần yếu đuối nhất trong tâm hồn, tạo thành những mảnh ghép đầy hoang hoải, trăn trở, đau đớn, gai góc, xù xì.

This sounds really familiar what used to happen to me. I started feeling more lucid in every dream i had and with it weird stuff started to happen in my dreams. As i started becoming more aware stuff like dream characters attacking, walls caved in, everything went dark, cold and weird looks from DC or something really random started to happen. These caused me to wake up many times in a night.
I dont know what the solution was but they stopped as i learned to be patient with lucid dreaming. I used to be annoyed by lucid dreaming being so short or being too distracted on lucid dream to be doing anything fun. Just being dissapointed in my lucid dreams when i was putting so much effort in them.

Hello, murasaki. This is purely a suggestion as to what may be happening when you get stuck, but it may be possible that you've developed some sort of mental block surrounding certain skills. Maybe the first time you tried to move through an object you were not fully lucid, and then every time after that you subconsciously assumed you wouldn't be able to again. There are various approaches you could take to improve this, and they would all revolve around visualization.

For example, if you move through an object and find yourself stuck, imagine a hook on a piece of your clothing attached to a chain, and there is a machine on the other side of the object pulling you through. If you look away and then imagine that when you look back you'll see the machine, it should appear.

In regard to the benefits of developing dream control, entire volumes could be written on the topic, and I'm sure they have been. They range from simple entertainment, to therapeutic. You can learn to conquer phobias (spiders, heights are two good ones for me) or find your "dream guide" who, in my opinion, is an extension of your subconscious. You can learn a lot about yourself, your emotions and thoughts by talking to your dream characters. They can give you a lot of insight into how you perceive things, or even learn about things that are bothering you deep down. It's very helpful.

You can also just have a blast! Lead a conquest! Explore outer space! With experience and after developing a lot of concentration ability, you can even practice something (I haven't been able to do this yet, so I don't know if practicing something physical would translate to the real world or not, but it would be interesting to try!) Live out fantasies, relive favoured memories, etc. It's endless. Have fun!

      Cheers
