Hey, I am interested in using lucid dreaming as a tool for growth and self-knowledge. I'm wondering if those who have been lucid dreaming for a longer period of time have been able to go to places of deep inner growth and deeper existential levels of experience. I know that there is Tibetan Dream Yoga, but I'm interested in a more open ended path, or western path. More like a Jungian spiritual path on steroids. Or any level of personal growth that can occur through lucid dreaming.
I've read Waggoner's book and the main reason I lucid dream is to attempt those deep self-explorations that he has achieved. I'm experienced with meditation and some non mainstream spiritual paths, but I'm not happy with the effort to transformation ratio. I have found ways to achieve some transpersonal states in clients in my therapy sessions without having to resort to traditional meditative methods. I like to buck tradition and I feel that lucid dreaming is a leverage towards inner transformation that could potentially be more powerful than any meditative technique or any psychoactive substance out there if used correctly.
Is anyone out there interested in using lucid dreaming for the same reasons? If anyone is interested, I'll start a blog site where we can discuss our experiences and experiments in using lucid dreaming in this manner.
Let me know.
