      Did I Lucid Dream??

Ok, so yesterday i became suddenly obsessed with Lucid Dreaming. I spent an hour researching the topic and the techniques that i need to induce a Lucid dream. All the rest of the day i must have done about 100+ reality checks. Counting my fingers, pinching my nose, looking at my watch etc until it got very late. I was still doing checks as i was going to sleep.

That very night.... I had a dream that I was on a boat out at sea during a storm. I did a reality check, and i noticed that i only had three fingers on my left hand. I yelled out 'This is a dream!' and there was a VERY brief moment of awareness. BUT... after that, its like i totally forgot all about it and the dream carried on as normal and i had absolutely no control over it. Its like i forgot that i was supposed to be in charge, and so the dream just carried on as normal. When i woke up, i remembered everything, and now im totally confused. I'm not sure if i had a lucid dream, or if I had a dream ABOUT having a lucid dream. Does that make any sense??!

You had a lucid dream, just not enough time to sustain it. Congrats man,

If you realize that you are in a dream, even for a second, it's a lucid dream.

It happens to everybody, especially for beginners, that they realize they are dreaming, but lose awareness or waking up.

Its important to say to yourself every 30-60 seconds in the dream that ''I know I am dreaming'', and you won't forget that way.

Don't worry, it's only the beginning, having a lucid dream on the first day of trying is amazing, keep it up.

oh yeah, i mean i'd still consider it a lucid dream given that you were lucid in a dream. my first short one happened when i was looking around for a penny and after searching for a while i was like "hey, this is a dream, i can just make a penny appear if i want" so i did and then continued on with my dream which involved buying ice cream with that penny

Awareness level is different in each Lucid Dream.. You had one with low lucidity. Don't worry...that is a fantastic start. I have had some like that where just enough awareness to pop semi conscious briefly. Usually not as vivid or real as being fully aware. But don't worry...you will have some that are fully aware too, and these will seem very real as you aren't "recalling" it after you are awake...you are aware in real time as it is going on.

      You did! Congratulation!
I agree with what the others said - don't leave the insight slip from your mind - keep repeating it to yourself, that you are lucid - keep doing RCs maybe, and test out your dream-control. If you want to have the motivation of a pre-planned goal and the recognition of your progress by acquiring these wings over your avatar - I warmly recommend taking part here: http://www.dreamviews.com/tasks-mont...ay-2014-a.html
