      Lucid Dreaming: 1990s to present?

So I have been gone from the subject of lucid dreaming since the 1990s, and I was wondering if any of you could share with me any new and exciting developments in the field of Lucid Dreaming that I may thus be unaware of? Have any seminal books or articles been published in the last one or couple of decades? Any interesting new thinkers that you would recommend I familiarize myself with?

Back in the 90s I read pretty much anything I could get my hands on on the subject. It has been years now, and alas I have forgotten a lot, so I may also need to refresh my memory on things I used to know about. My favorite author at that time on the subject was Stephen LaBerge, but I remember also reading books and articles written by others, and getting useful different points of view.

I would especially appreciate recommendations of books, articles, and websites, that could help me discover stuff that I am unlikely to be aware of due to having not been involved in this hobby for somewhere between one and two decades. Thanks!

That's a really good question. Most of my knowledge of lucid dreaming comes from this site and Stephen LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, which coincidentally was written in the early 90s. That being the case, I'm actually not quite sure how to answer your question. I know that over the past few years they've developed the NovaDreamer 2, a more advanced model of the sleeping mask that sends light patterns into your dream. The Lucidity Institute over at Stanford also has a newsletter you can subscribe to that keeps you updated with their research, though I haven't gotten one in a while; I don't know if it's because they lost my email or if they just haven't put out one. Either way, that could be a good way to stay up to date, though they only do four per year. Other than that, I'd suggest you Google some recent articles on lucid dreaming and see how they compare to what you knew.

Well I may as well make my first "real" post back in the forum useful.
These three books are in my opinion the most important that you may have missed out on (in no particular order):

Are You Dreaming by Daniel Love
Are You Dreaming?: Exploring Lucid Dreams: A Comprehensive Guide: Daniel Love: 9780957497702: Amazon.com: Books

Advance Lucid Dreaming the power of supplements by Thomas Yuschak
Advanced Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Supplements: Thomas Yuschak: 9781430305422: Amazon.com: Books

      Lucid Dreaming by Waggoner, Robert
Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self: Robert Waggoner: 9781930491144: Amazon.com: Books

First is my favourite and covers a lot of info, second is all about using supplements and the third is one is popular but reads like one man's spiritual journey.

Two new and relatively well known methods have been popularized recently. First is ADA(All day Awareness) which is extremely effective, and SSILD, which i have never tried but supposedly is very effective and can induce OBE's and False Awakenings. I'm not sure if these methods were developed or popularized in the 2000s, but they are both really good methods :p

Great, so far I have now purchased the Kindle version of Are you Dreaming by Daniel Love (hoping to start reading it soon), and am about to look up ADA and SSILD. Thank you!
