Changing mentality from just having a mere interest in lucid dreaming to being a fully fledged LDer.

I really don't want to sound lazy or anything, but i really need a bit of encouragement. Perhaps some you have gone through what i am going through. I was really into Lucid Dreaming about two years ago. I was really in the right mentality for success, updating my dream journal regularly, doing reality checks and even had three dreams in which I did a reality check but never actually gained full awareness. I have since then started college, gotten a job, and much more, so my mind was off LDing for quite a while. Now I am back into Lucid dreaming but I find that im not in the right mindset anymore. I have been lazy with my dream journal, havent started doing reality checks again yet. My dream recall is great though. And I recently got two books on LD which I am reading, but i feel i need an extra push. Any tips, suggestions, comments, experiences, that can help me out? I would very much appreciate it. I really want to become a full on Lucid Dreamer, but as far as dedication and motivation, there is something missing.

I know what you mean. You have the "want", but not the "will". Unfortunatelly, nobody can give you the will. You have to find that yourself.

You can try by reading the books you mentioned (books always get me fired up). If they excite you, don't read them too fast. Read a few pages to get the motivation and excitement going, then practice for LDs while the excitement lasts. Then read a few pages again.

Do you have a supercool goal of what you want to do in a lucid? If not, think of something. Write the plan of execution in your DJ. Draw a picture of it, look for similar videos on youtube. Daydream about it. Practice, how you want it to go down, once you get lucid.

Get inspiration from threads here on DV. 1000 things to do in LD is a good start. Find some cool DJs and read them. Maybe you find something in them you wanna try.

But at the end, it's really up to you. Hope you find the will. Good luck

Dude. Totally in the SAME situation as you! I started posting here in 08 when I was like 15, and after a while I just stopped. Starting out, I was having LDs like every night. Since then, I went through high school, college, and I am now in the start of my career.

I find, now, I could find the time to get back into LDing fully fledged. Perhaps we could do this together, and encourage each other along the way! DM me and let me know!

I have also recently decided to start keeping an online DJ, because typing things will me much easier than writing them in my notebook. I tried voice recording them for a while but I found I was just waaay too groggy to sound....understandable.

Glad to see I'm not alone!
Do not try and bend the spoon--that's impossible. Instead only try and realize the truth...there is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends

      it is only yourself
