Help! I Prevent Myself From Getting Lucid.

good: I am able to control my dreams.
bad: I still can't become lucid.

All my friends have had lucid dreams after I told them what a lucid dream is. I haven't with over a month of trying(DILD, semi-ADA, visualization). After examining my dreams it seems like when ever I notice something is amiss instead of doing a reality check I fix it and continue with the dream.

If anyone has had these experiences feel free to post them.

Help would also be much appreciated.

Semi-ADA? Sorry to say, but ADA isn't something you can semi do. Persistence, confidence, and consistency is the key to having lucid dreams. Semi doing things is a tad lazy.

I'd try doing daily reminders that if something is wrong in your dream you need to notice it,and exam it. Not fix it.

Also, when things go wrong in real life, examine the issue instead of just blindly fixing it. Unless of course it's something that requires immediate attention. But ask yourself why, how, and when did this happen. Make these issues a bigger deal in waking life, and they will become a big deal in your dreams.

For some people it just takes longer, don't be disheartened. Keep practicing, like Sn0wy said, ADA is ALL DAY AWARENESS, so needs to be done all day to have the best effect.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

It took me a month or so too to get lucid for the first time. Just keep up trying and you will get lucid eventually. Maybe you can try auto suggestion or just imagine yourself getting lucid. Anyways good luck .

I get what you mean by fixing the issue and continuing on with the dream. I got attacked a couple of times in my dreams and the instinct reaction was to fight back without considering how weird my opponent was, and how even weirder my attacks were.

Use that as a dreamsign. Try to remember that every time you do something like that, you're dreaming. It's worked for me for at least one dreamsign.

Thank you for all of your suggestions and words of encouragement. Also, I have just started ADA and trying to take it slow, however, I am work on the "All Day" part.
