Relaxation advice, and any other LD advice welcome... Also my interoduction!!! :)

Hello everyone, Im new to the forum but Im really diggin it so far. So much information!

Anyways, Ive been practicing a few methods , Ive been doing RC's throughout this week (finger through palm, can I fly, and nose pinch). Also just practicing awareness and trying to observe small details and read texts. I also just mantra throughout the day "Am I dreaming, Is this a dream?" Ive noticed it carry over in a few of my dreams this past week. In one dream my mom gave me a shirt that said (this is a lucid dream). It didnt click though. Another one I was talking about lucid dream techniques with someone, and I still didnt realize. So I guess, what are ways to help you go from cues to conscious? Thats one question.

Another I have is, when trying to go to sleep and attempt a WILD or even just falling asleep in general it can be hard for me. Today I put togeather some of the things i have been reading during my REM rebound nap and it definitely helped but I still couldnt really fall asleep. heres what happened: I set the saltcube (random interval timer) to start in 20 mins. I layed in bed and performed counting + trying visualization. I caught myself drifting out a little bit. Couldnt relax enough to enter into deeper sleep. My mind remained pretty awake. I tried switching to just counting, and also just visualizing, and also visualizing plus mantra (i am entering a lucid dream). Finally during just mantra'ing I started to go deep enough and began lifting up. I slipped back into too much waking awareness however and couldnt go deeper into dream conscious state. So any advice for relaxing physically and mentally to help go deeper? I find when I perform these techniques I get energized in a way. Also, I notice my exhaling doesnt seem completely full. Any advice for emptying the diaphram while attempting WILD? I notice I sometimes have trouble exhaling full while going about my regular day aswell. Any advice will be much appreciated!!!

Heres my lucid dreams this week so far: In one, I was listening to a homemade audio induction with ambient background I made in ableton. It energized me listening to it. It became 530am still hadnt fallen asleep. Turned it off and fell asleep an hour later. Dreamed I was on a dock with a friend. Fell off into water and turned lucid. I started soaring through water but then almost immediately my alarm clock went off.

Next lucid dream a few days later: I drifted off but remained aware and heard this drumming pulling me in. I think it started as me drumming with some friends but then it was just a drum in front of me, and the drum started singing a higher pitch tone song. It reminded me of a shaman who was playing a drum and transforming in a dream I had a few weeks ago. This drumming was pulling me in and I was aware, I felt intense energy rushing through me and particularly building up at the sacral chakra. I managed to float up some but didnt keep the LD stable enough. I was flying a bit but it was fuzzy and I came out of it shortly after.

Much love and full speed ahead fellow explorers. This forum has become a real inspiration. I look forward to talking with you all.

Well, for one thing, instead of plopping your LDs into threads, put them into your nonlinear DV dream journal!

As for relaxation, try slowing your breathing down a bit. When humans sleep, our breathing slows down. Just make sure not to slow down too much!

Thanks for the advice indeed! Slowing down the breathing is a good thing to focus on, I will do that tonight. And I just posted my LDs in the dream journal
