Scared to sleep.. Help, am i lucid dreaming?

This only happens when I take a nap in my living room, during the day and it is to the point I am afraid to sleep during the day. Sometimes I have to be alone, but I have had a couple of times where their was someone in the room.

My dreams are hyper realistic. I fall asleep on the couch, my dream begins with me on the couch, everything exactly how it was. I usually get up and explore my apartment, and every dream I see someone different, but each dream is also different.

One dream; I got off the couch and heard a noise in the bathroom. I approached the bathroom to see a guy holding my daughter in the air. He walked into her room, sat her on the ground and said "If you want me, you have to get me." Walked into the closet and it shut.

Another Involved a woman. I saw her run into my bedroom. But when i arrived in my bedroom no one was there. I came back to the couch and everything slowly started disappearing. My front door swung open and all my stuff was outside my apartment. I go outside wondering how all this happened and at that moment I see her flying down the stairs towards me.

These dreams are real to me. It doesn't feel like a dream until I feel so scared that i am forced to tell myself this is a dream. To get out of the dream i have to close my eyes and try hard to open them again. It is not easy to get out of these dreams.

What is going on? I am a stay at home dad so I usually take a nap in the living room daily but I am truly too scared to sleep at times. I feel myself drift into this new world and try to bring myself back because i get a weird feeling inside. Like i shouldn't be there.

NOTE: Now that i finished typing. I do recall this happening during the day in my bedroom. I just don't sleep in there enough to know if it is consistent.

If you know you are dreaming during the dream do you feel less afriad?
Because learning lucid dream techniques like reality checking and dream signs, you can become lucid earlier and help fight off these deamons if you wish.

Yeah just like Myke Gregory said , you should get a habit of performing a reality check every time you wake up. The second and just as important thing is that you need to get a mindset like "okay this is my dream. I'm the boss and I don't need to care about anything I see" (when the reality check is successful).

After that... you most likely get superpowers and can fly around shooting lightning bolts from your fingers.. "Zap! Zap! ZAP!" ...its all in the mind.

Even though i know it is a dream, something inside of me is just afraid. Something just doesn't feel right during these dreams. I have had a couple though, with no strangers and i was able to manipulate the world and do whatever i want.

I have also tried to fight a couple of the people, but when i did it was as if i was fighting the wrong person. The ones that really scare me, something inside tells me to not pursue.

The only way to conquer the fear is to pursue

Afterall, you know its not real so you might aswell, and don't think of your ability as a bad thing, many people would kill to have your ability of having ld's so easily, including myself

Lucid dreaming is a perfect way to get rid of your nightmares. When lucid, you can ask the characters that scare you what they represent. You can also project love and understanding towards them. Most of the time when you do that, the scary creatures turn into something nonthreatening and even melt into the dreamer. This is under the assumption, that these scary aspects are just a part of a dreamer, probably a part, that was rejected by the dreamer, like a bad trait, for example, that you don't want to acknowledge. Once you accept it as part of you, you will reconnect and bad dreams will end. Feel free to ask anything else. Good luck
