Talking Another 30 day trial. :)

Hey everyone. I've been searching and browsing DV forum for a pretty long time now...
Unfortunately I didn't stick with a method of lucid dreaming for more than 5 days...
I really want to get lucid..it's just so awesome to be lucid, I can't let this life changing..thing..escape me again.
I actually had two LD's since joining DV. Both were WILD's and I just loved the sensation of entering the dream world and actually be in the dream world.
It's pretty hard for me to stick with something more than a couple of days...So I'm making this risky attempt to dedicate myself to LD for 30 days. It's not that long right? 4 weeks, pheh
I will post everyday my progress and my dreams. Actually I'm going to post the dream I had today right now. I'm REALLY curious how much I'll progress in 30 days. Wish me luck .

I would say go for it, that's a good length of time to test out a technique. Stick with it and you'll really start to see some progress. A week isn't really long enough to get into a good rhythm and let your body know what you want (I think I remember reading somewhere that it takes 3 weeks to make/break a habit, which this shouldn't just be habit but it is probably about the same for adjusting your body to a new system).

You could even test out a couple techniques during this time to see which really fits you. Example: do MILDs before you go to bed to tell your mind to remember dreaming, try WILD/WBTB/DEILD after a few hours of sleep to put yourself into the dream, and do reality checking/awareness during the day to better understand the difference between waking and dreaming. You don't have to try them all at once but at least try each one a couple times and see if it's something you think you could get into and really stick with for long enough to see progress. And you may even find a good system by combining a couple of them together.

Personally I try to do a a few of them together (MILD/WILD/Awareness) to get the most benefit from it and keep my mind constantly focused on dreaming.

Hope you find something that works for you, and good luck!

Thanks for the advice I am thinking to MILD before falling asleep, meditating during the day, try maybe some auto hypnosis and wild after 6 hours of sleep. And constantly reminding and visualizing that I want and that I achieve lucidity

Sounds a lot like my plan too. I hope it works for you. I've been seeing a steady increase in my recall (2 full dreams and 3 fragments last night!) and lucid moments in my dreams which is a huge improvement. I'm excited for the next few weeks to see if I can start becoming more aware of my dreams and really have a good lucid. So far all mine have been short but I just need to work on keeping calm and stabilizing when I become lucid.

Meditation is also a great addition to the schedule. I try to meditate when I wake in the mornings and before I go to sleep and I find it's way easier for me to fall asleep with a clear head and be able to focus just on dreaming.

Not sure if this interests anyone, but I said I'll post daily so I will.
My recall has improved allot, from just fragments to a dream and a fragment.
If I recall correctly, I had some very-dull-semi-lucid moments, but that's all.
Today I will try ADA nonstop and MILD during the day +meditate. I really want to succeed because I try to LD for a year and so and I only had 2 lucids each about 2 seconds. So yeah.

Also I posted last night's dream in my DJ.

Update: ADA is friggin hard I try it for only one hour and already my head aches.

Write down somewhere your intention - a binding contract, with yourself. eg; I will have a lucid dream by the end of this month.

      Date it.
      Sign it.
      Profit.

      Update 11.02.2012 (2nd day)

Last night, 30 minutes after going to sleep I almost entered SP. My limbs were very heavy and I also started having hypnagogic imagery.
After 6 hours of sleep I woke up. I tried WILD and almost succeeded. I started having hypnagogic imagery. I also heard strange noises. My alarm started yelling so I had to stop...
So yeah, after 1 day of ADA, meditation and constant MILD and asking myself if I'm in a dream or not had some effect. I can't wait to see what happens tonight.

      Update 12.2.2012 (3rd day)

No lucids yet, but my dream recall is improving. Also I tried to WILD this morning. I started having HI and I felt heavy... and that's all.
I'll try to be more aware today. I really like this ADA technique even if it's pretty hard.

Recall is improving, thats the important part!

Remember to reality check a lot, I like to think 'Am i dreaming?' and keep asking in my head whilst I scan around and be aware of everything. The longer you keep that up the more chance it will cross over to the dream. Rather than the quick 'Am I dreaming? Erm.. nope' which has a low probability of transfering to a dream.

Hey Shadow, that's exactly what I do. To ask myself if I'm dreaming and scan everything and be aware. I just need to remember to do it more often.

      UPDATE 02/13/2012 :
I did remember a dream but I didn't write it down because I was in a great rush to go to school.
