      Question Contract, Pact, Agreement?

Has anyone ever made a agreement, of some sort, that would deal with a certain dream character that would always come up to you in a dream and tell you you're dreaming? If so could you tell me how exactly it worked or the terms in which the DC would tell you. And If not would this be a good way to becoming lucid?

      Please and Thank you,
      Victor.

I tried this for a short period. The funny thing was that the big desire of telling the DC to help you got me lucid in the 2nd night. I grabbed my sister (my most frequent dream character) and told her to tell me I was dreaming when she saw me. I even shaked* her a bit xD

So far I have no results but I think it was because I wasn't focusing on the dream character well enough 0o

Talking to Dream Guides is more likely to be able to work with making "pacts" but it all depends, nothing is absolute.

I have something kind of like that with my DG. He always makes me lucid because he always looks like himself (which is someone I've never met or seen IWL). It's a pretty good deal because he's around so often that even if I'm lazy about LDing, seeing him makes me lucid.

Interesting, I was having doubts about this actually working. But if it works for you, then I guess I should give it a go if I have a lucid dream anytime soon. Maybe it'll help get me on the road to frequent lucid dreams.

I'm also finding this quite curious.

Though I would argue this is just evidence that you can develop a custom dream sign. I don't really believe in DGs being "something more" than DCs.

I do't think you'd need to in order for this sort of thing to work. A DG is whatever you believe them to be or not be.

Right, I don't believe that dream characters have any metaphysical properties either if that's what you're saying. This is probably either a way of telling your subconscious to make you lucid through your dream guide, or developing a dreamsign. I've never doubted the former since your subconscious, and by extension your habits should be highly impressionable from within a dream, but I've never had the chance to try it.

Thanks for all the feedback. I, personally, never made an agreement with a dream character to "wake me up" in a dream but that's only because I've been in a dry spell for months now. Once though, while I was falling asleep I repeated to myself "A dream character will tell me I'm dreaming" And it actually worked. I still perfectly remember this dream character, Yet haven't seem him since in any of my dreams. Hopefully though when I start Lucid Dreaming again I'll try this out.

P.s. You can check out the LD where that dream character "woke me up" in my dream journal if your interested it's the one where I first learn to fly.

I had Morpheus come and tell me I was dreaming, then I became Lucid and woke up laughing about the whole thing.
