Oh, Yes, I remember that schedule well from MS anf HS. As you know it SUCKS! lol. You should definantly be going to bed earlier than 12am if you're getting up at 5am. Maybe 10 would be better. You should be getting a solid 7 hours of sleep at least, just so your body can keep up. Also, I'm not trying to discourage you from LDing by no means, but at this point in your life your education is the most important thing. I know, you proabably hear it all the time from your parents and teachers, but it's true. Just don't loose sight of school, okay, kid? |

Do you have time to take a 30 minute nap? Maybe sometime around 3:00 or 7:00? You will have to play around with the timing a bit to fit your schedule, but those both tend to be magic times for lucid dreaming. You should drop right into REM as you fall asleep in your nap. |

Yeah, five hours of sleep will slowly destroy you. If you are a night owl and don't want to get to bed earlier, try to squeeze in more naps throughout the day. Again, naps, naps, naps. They are amazing. |

I hear you all when you say he should get more sleep, and I agree. But are we forgetting that puberty shifts circadian rhythms ? Johnnyboi, try to at least nap on the weekends if you cannot find time during the week to sleep. I agree that you should utilize school as a major dreamsign. Hell, I'm 25 and I still have dreams about grade school. But please don't lay in bed an hour earlier if you aren't tired at all. This will only frustrate you as you toss and turn without falling asleep. I bet you probably sleep in till almost 11am on the weekends, right? If it wasn't for the ass-backward western model of education, you wouldn't be hauled out of bed at 5am when your body wants to stay asleep for another 5 hours. The silver lining however is that you probably get some pretty wicked REM kickbacks on the weekend. I highly recommend that you only seriously attempt to LD on the weekends. Do MILD each and every time your head touches your pillow, and hold off on WILDing until the weekend. |
