How many false awakenings have you had in a row?

False awakenings sound pretty freaky. I've only had one, but it was just one, and I woke up to reality almost instantly. I've also never had a lucid dream, but I'm working on it.

I have heard of people having up to SEVEN in a row. That just sounds scary.

So, how many false awakenings have you had consecutively? Were you panicky or frightened?

I've only ever had one but it felt so real that it wasn't scary at all. It was a bit weird when I woke up though, but that was probably because in the FA I got out of bed and looked in the mirror and I had curly hair o_o

After an attempt to OBE in the middle of the night, I had over 10 FAs in a row. I would wake up in another dream the moment I get lucidity, so after a few FAs it got faster and faster. Was fun.

About 5-10 in a row. Extremely scary. I kept reality testing and "waking up" over and over again wanting to get out. I've actually had this happen a number of times. Sometimes I try to roll out of bed, and I keep falling back into my bed as I go through the floor. The most successful way I've found to get out is either to purposely scare myself so much that my heart beats too fast to stay asleep, or sometimes if I focus really hard on my eyelids, I can open my real eyelids and wake up that way.

Ive had about 10 in a row but i didn't notice until i actually woke up because every time i had a false awakening i did a wild and went back into a lucid. It never occurred to me while in the dream, that the reason why the wilds were so easy to do was because i was already dreaming. It was actually pretty fun though because i find if i WILD when im already in a dream, i have much more dream control while lucid, than if i just DILD.

6-7 to different scenes, sometimes I was in a dark hallway filled with bones and other times the world was filled with zombies that would 'activate' when I got near them, the first dream seemed pretty normal and in the second false awakening I knew that I'd pissed off some entity really bad and then it just all went crazy.

I've only had one that I can recall. I dreamt that I woke up, and started writing my previous dream in my dream journal. The entire process I was actually recalling the events of the previous dream and I assume I was writing them down in a lot of detail (I filled up about 4 pages, but I couldn't make out any words because it was very blurry). I woke up that morning and went to check my dream journal and read over what I had written... The shock I got when there was nothing there made me question whether I was still dreaming or not, lol.

Pfft, I used to have 6-9/day before. And then they are gone, the poor them. Never scary.

I had 5 in a row once. And another time 3 in a row.
When I first heard about them I expected I'd get worried or scared, I didn't become lucid in any of them though, but they where very very vidid, every detail was intricate and I had more awareness in them. I loved them. It was very interesting to write about and think about the next day (:

At times I'll have 2 or 3 false awakenings. A couple of times I've had 8-10 in a row, but that doesn't happen often. Personally I love FA's, especially when I'm convinced that I'm really awake and go to flip the lights on or look in the mirror. This almost always results in an instant lucid for me.

Once I had a false awakening that put me in the driver's seat of my truck while driving. This one scared me for a second until I realized that I was driving down a river, passing several pirate ships. After that, it was all fun...

I've only had one false awakening in my life and that too about a week ago. Strange, i use to read about false awakenings but thought it was a weird phenomenon. The day before i had a false awakening i was thinking that it would be impossible for me to have one (as i didn't believe it was possible). Surprisingly i had one that same night and was SHOCKED out of my wits. I couldn't believe how real everything was. I switched my alarm off and prepared for the day only to realize that it was all a dream. Having one false awakening is scary, i wouldn't want to imagine how 2 or more in a row would be

Hmm, so false awakenings can actually be fun huh?

Never would have guessed. Always sounded scary to me.

Is there any way to induce false awakenings?

I think I've only had two in row. They're not scary at all! But the subconscious is tricky.

I've only had two. They only happen for me when I think that I might wake up or when I try to wake myself up. The expectation usually makes them happen. Sometimes I get tricked and the dream continues after the FA, sometimes I figure it out. I usually do an RC and that's how I figure it out.

I actually had a night recently where I may have had like 5 or so.. but the thing is after like the first two it became almost a habit to reality check so everytime i false awakened I reality checked right away and was back to being lucid.

I just had about 6-8 False Awakenings last night.
I fell asleep in the afternoon, which meant I got sleep paralysis that night.
I'm not sure if this added to it, but I was trying to imagine myself out of my body during the sleep paralysis, to actually make it
      worthwhile.
It didn't work, but instead I felt stabbing pains in my sides, as usual.

Then, I tried to wake up for the SP.
I opened my eyes, grabbed my ipod, looked at the clock, and walked out the door to my sister's room.
I started to have a weird feeling, and suddenly i was back again in my bed.
      This happened about 5 times.
Then, after that, I really felt like something was wrong and I could be stuck like this forever.
It was a weird thought, but it felt possible.
The next two times I woke up, it all seemed even more real.
I really didn't distinguish it like the others.
So the final time I woke up I had to ask my sister if everything was really happening.
      Very disconcerting.
