Thread: Strong Emotion in a Dream?

Is it usual in a dream to feel strong feelings and emotions, like when I was younger I used to always feel extreme pain in my dreams whenever something happened to me that would have hurt in real life.
Also, in my latest recorded dream, which you can read here, I more or less fell in love with a girl I have never seen before. Is this normal?

It doesn't happen to me often, but I have had plenty of dreams characterized by intense emotions. I can still remember most of them. they're very strange for me, because I can still experience the feeling after waking up, though I can then realize that it's not real.

Usually it is fear or love, but I do remember one where it was nothing but an empty loneliness, during a zombie invasion.

I've had dreams in the past, where I have dated DC's that I don't know in waking life and it certainly did feel like I loved them, so I don't think that's unusual.

In a lucid dream it is mostly the id part of your brain that is active wihich controls instinct and emotion so a dream has intense emotions

Every time something sad happens in a dream I will start crying. I cry really really intensely even if its something silly, and get a deep depressing feeling inside of me. Only that emotion gets magnified for me.

I woke up SOBBING once. I didn't even remember the dream :/

Yeah i feel quite strong emotions in my dreams/ Ranging from attraction, happiness and anxiety. depending on the situation will determine how strongly i feel the emotion while dreaming. I still remember the intense fear that gripped me when my mate had killed someone in my dream and i was helping him cover it up. That fear of getting caught with a dead body was very very intense at the time.

I've felt a wide range of emotions in my dream. Anger/power (came with an EXTREME adrenaline rush fueled by the anger), sadness (I often times wake up with tears streaming down my face), fear, desperation, etc. I don't often feel happy, but I would say I've felt elated (as in, almost dazed with my happiness) once or twice when dealing with DC's.

Romantic love is always a strong emotion in my dreams.

Wow. So many males dreaming about love. And women say what about us? I guess we don't want "just one thing." We want two things.

Anyway, people have called these dream emotions. After experiencing them in dreams, I now often experience them in waking life. It's like dream colors. Emotions you have never had before, or even at that intensity.

Here are some I have experienced: drunk with power, terrifying hiliarity, android's agony, quiet madness, pure rage, quiet rage, vengeful justice

i had a dream my brother died and i was sobbing, woke up and was will crying for a little while

hi, i suffer from depression and these extreme dreams are kind of messing me up lately. i would like to know, what to do with them, how to get rid of them. because i kind of liked them untill last night. even though i was rather confused with a dream in which i had this really strong emotion towards an old man, i loved him as a father and i would die for him if he was in danger. i have never felt that way towards my real father, which made me feel guilty. but i was okay with that. but last night i had a dream about a man seducing me. i am asexual. never had any kind of these dreams, never felt the sexual tension towards anyone or anything, never watched porn. nothing actually happened in the dream, but the solemn fact that i had a dream about sex which i liked made me feel really uncomfortable. this never happened to me before and i don´t want it to repeat. does anyone have an idea how to get rid of these dreams? i liked the madlyinlove ones, but this is weird and it makes me feel sick about myself irl. help?

anyone ever get an intense adrenaline rush? somtimes i just feel a surge of energy in a lucid and do crazy shit like jump through windows and destroy cop cars

In my favorite dreams I experiance emotions unlike I ever have gotten in "Real Life". I am not experianced enough of a dreamer to be able to list them, but I specifically remember several times when love/lust radiated through my dreams.

yes it happens, sometimes i cry in dreams and i wake up crying as well with the same emotions during a dream.

You ever have emotions in dreams that are more intense than waking life? I even have dream emotions, that I don't even experience when awake!
