Thread: A Surrealist Feedback Loop

Normally I just lurk and read people's posts on this forum, but I've been having a thing happening in my dreams recently that I think might be worth sharing here.

So in general, I am artistically a surrealist. In my spare time I make pixel art of my dreams and I've been tinkering around with programming a game engine that I hope to build a video game inspired by my dreamscapes with. (as well as the dreamscapes of some of my friends who share their dreams with me)

So I've been working on a game based on my dreams. And the game itself has been showing up in my dreams, or mechanics from the game are becoming present in the dreams I have.

So I have dreams, that inspire parts of a game, that inspire more dreams, that inspire further parts of the game, it seems I have caused some sort of wonderful Surrealist Feedback Loop of artistic inspiration.

Wow - interesting. Maybe you should try to make the game really meta, to the point of being self-referential, possibly at several levels. It keeps expanding its parameters so that it includes the players themselves.
