Many people have recurring characters in their dreams that they have never met before. It could be someone you saw somewhere outside but never met or someone your mind just created randomly. If you believe in dream sharing it could be someone real that you haven't met but...I wouldn't know how to tell. Also, maybe the feelings only come with that specific girl because you favor her above the rest. Whether it be just her appearance or her personality and appearance that makes you feel that way about her. |

With how many people you see in an average week I'd say it's pretty impossible to say whether you were using the image of someone you saw but didn't consciously remember or inventing an entirely new person. The only way I could see this being possible is for a hermit or a small tribe where you only ever see people you're familiar with, but I'm not sure we have many people in that situation here. |

Yeah, I know. XD But I didn't mean figuring it out by just appearance. |

No. ^^' haha |

You're mind usually doesnt make up faces. Any face, and every single person that you have seen before in your life, can be seen in your dreams. Your dreaming mind remembers these, and they are filed into your brain as Tacit knowledge- stuff you know, but dont know that you know. So, every single person that you've ever seen before in real life, can be seen in your dreams. As for this girl, and being a recurrent DC, maybe your love for her when you first saw her in the dream is what keeps her coming back. I know that when I have a deep passion for something, it will keep showing up in my dreams. I've experienced this once with a girl I was in love with, and I still do see her in my dreams, usually once a week. That's all I got man, hope it helped |

I'm not sure, because of their faces could get mixed. Sometimes I get DC's which look like they are hybrids of some people I know. On the other hand, I don't trust the accuracy of my memory starting from the point that not even I look the same in front of a dream mirror, why should any unknown person who I barely saw in my WL? |

I have definitely experienced composite DCs. Also, time-elapsed DCs and so forth. I find it difficult to believe that the mind cannot create faces it has never seen before, or at least alter a face enough to make it seem like a different face? Also, if the mind cannot create new faces, how the heck did that get proven? I have heard this often, and wonder if it is just one of those circulated urban myths. |
|
Oh of course, based off of all the faces you have ever seen in your entire life, I am sure that your mind could play around with them and change them and such. I wasn't dissing that. I was just coming from the perspective of LaBerge and his views on it in general. Tell me if you dfind anything about it man, I'd like to get some more insight on this as well |

Wow I step away for a few hours and get a ton of replies, must be something that happens to a lot of people. The biggest thing I struggle with is that I'm currently in a committed relationship that has been rough lately, and this other girl has been popping up in my dreams a lot, makes me wonder if there is meaning behind it. |
|
Ahhh yes, that plays a role as well. Whenever something is going on in your life and it is important to you, it tends to pass over into your dreams fairly quick. You can take advantage of that and use it as an approach for Lucid Dreaming in general. Back to that girl, if you've been thinking over that relationship and the other girl alot, that will create day residue which will in turn pass over into your dreams as well. |

No problem. I'm looking into it online, and I can't even find an originator of the idea. Where are you finding LaBerge's quote? Can you give me a page number in EWOLD? |
|
Yea, I was just reading up in EWOLD and found that he really doesn't mention it lol. My fault guys, but he does talk about Tacit knowledge. I kind of just put "the seeing of peoples faces" into the whole generalization of tacit knowledge because of the way LaBerge explains it. Anyways man its on page 210, check it out its all about tacit knowledge, pretty interesting. |

It's more likely that the wealth of faces we experience throughout our lives allows us to build an excellent model for re-creating them. |
