What? It is completely pertinent to the part of the OP that I quoted. It is not remotely hard to believe that "thousands of people" could have a paranoid delusion when this number is such a tiny proportion of the population, and even a tiny proportion of the number of people who have actually been diagnosed with paranoid mental illnesses. 1,000 is only an impressive number if you completely ignore the sample size you're talking about. It's of the order of one in a million people. |
