Thread: New York Shooting

Most of the casualties were caused by police.

Part of me finds it strange that we're suddenly seeing mass shootings (Dark Night, Sikh temple, NY). Hopefully I'm wrong and I've just been watching too many conspiracy videos, but I sort of think these are either false flag attacks or that the media is focusing on them for the sake of ushering in new laws and that tough gun control is on it's way (and very soon). I've always felt America's gun laws were ridiculously lax but lately, I've been looking at the situation in a different light. I honestly think a revolution is on it's way (either a traditional revolt or an idealogical shift like Quebec's historical "silent revolution") that threatens that status quo (Occupy movement, Anonymous movement, WikiLeaks, the public fallout of LIBOR and other banking scandals, etc). The powers-that-be recognize that with each passing day, this scenario gets a little closer to becoming a reality and are now moving to quash it before gets out of hand.

If this third shooting (New York) isn't enough to sway public opinion, I think another shootout will coincidentally take place soon enough.

Bingo. You're very perceptive. I think right around the time the Tea Party starting showing up at political events with loaded weapons, the government started thinking of ways to eliminate the 2nd Amendment once and for all. These shootings do fit the profile of a CIA false flag operation. I've been waiting for the spark that will trigger the break up of the Empire, and maybe attempting gun control will do it (by causing a Southern revolt), but the people may be too pacified already.

Stop it. There is no reason to suggest that this is some wild false flag conspiracy. These kinds of events have been happening for a long time. Furthermore, this was not in any way a mass shooting. One person shot a former coworker with whom he had a history of conflict, and in the process of killing the original shooter, police gunfire wounded nine bystanders who were caught in the crossfire. Six of those were hit by ricocheting fragments.

Oh, my bad. I heard there were casualties from my barber. I probably should have double checked before posting that.

By mass shooting, I meant a shooting that resulted in the injury of multiple people. Probably not the best choice of words, but I couldn't for the life of me think of another way to phrase it at the time. i so solly :[

In any case, the topic is just about the shooting. The second half of my post (under the "-----") is just my take on the events and not really the subject of the thread.

Right. I guess my point is that this isn't really in the same category of events as the "Dark Knight" shooting, and the shooting at the Sikh temple is more in the realm of hate crimes - possibly linked to some wayward Islamophobia (obviously I can tell the difference, some people just happen to be quite stupid though). This was a 1 on 1 thing - if the police had been luckier with their shots, there would only be one casualty to talk about.

Side note: unless I'm mistaken, "casualty" refers to both dead and wounded for a given event.

There are plenty of humans to spare I think we'll be fine
